Overview
PrepTrack is built local-first: your plan, tasks, notes, practice history, interview tracker, and every other piece of app data lives in a database on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to any server operated by PrepTrack, because no such server exists — this is a single-developer app with no backend.
What we collect
Nothing, by default. PrepTrack works fully as a guest with zero data ever leaving your device, and contains no analytics or telemetry SDK of any kind — we have no way to see how you use the app, and don't try to.
If you choose to sign in with Google, PrepTrack reads your Google account's name, email address, and profile photo (via Android's Credential Manager) to show your profile inside the app. This stays on your device; it's never sent anywhere else.
Google Drive backup (optional)
If you turn on cloud backup, PrepTrack requests Google Drive's private
appDataFolder scope only — a hidden folder that doesn't appear in your regular Drive
and that no other app, including Google Drive's own app, can browse. PrepTrack cannot see, read,
or modify any other file in your Drive.
The only thing written there is your own PrepTrack backup (the same data already on your device). Turning off sync or signing out doesn't delete that backup — remove it yourself from your Google Account's "Manage third-party apps & services" page if you want it gone.
Sharing with third parties
None. PrepTrack doesn't sell, share, or transmit your data to any third party, doesn't show ads, and doesn't use any advertising or analytics network.
Data deletion
Uninstalling PrepTrack deletes everything stored on your device immediately — there's no server copy to also clean up. If you enabled Drive backup, delete that file separately from your Google Account's connected-apps page.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the bottom of this page changes with it. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revision.
